We often make references to the Archduke of Chipping Linking, but just who is this colourful character and what role does he have to play in the life of gallant Sir Linksworthy?
Well the Archduke is our knight’s employer and indeed a most generous benefactor, however this generosity does often come with a few strings attached.
Sir Linksworthy is usually busy campaigning on behalf of the Archduke’s high ranking bullion Websites, his network of fashion and shoe blogs and his deluxe ecommerce site dedicated to a luxurious line of ferret caps as worn by his beloved pet Nibbleton III.
When rankings and conversions are high, booming laughter and gleaming gold sovereigns flow like wine.
Conversely, a slight drop in rank for the phrase “Sapphire Clogs” and there is an immediate darkening of countenance, resulting in a harsh evening knock on the door from the palace militia demanding an urgent explanation at court.
Often the drop can be attributed to the Archduke’s constant tweaking of his title tags, in the vain attempt at squeezing yet another lead out of his already affluent web properties.
The calming words of the Knight soon persuade his Imperial Highness to show a little more meta tag discretion and subtlety. Invariably within a few days the number 1 positions return and so does the Archduke’s benevolent demeanour.
“Keep up the good work old chap!” He booms with a smile, as he hands over another bulging bag of gold.
“Get yourself a decent pair of clogs and a haircut my good man!”
“One last thing,” says the Archduke scratching his beard thoughtfully.
“How long do you think it would take to rank for the phrase Platinum Plated Toothpicks?”
